A team of carers in Tettenhall, Wolverhampton, were in for a surprise at their regional meeting today, as television and dancing star, Anton du Beke, treated them to a very special thank you.
A national poll by Richmond Sausages recently revealed carers as one of the UK’s favourite workforces – so we teamed up with Anton du Beke to surprise the team at Sunrise Senior Living in Tettenhall, transforming the centre’s activity room in to a glamorous ballroom.
The unsuspecting team of carers arrived for what they believed to be a regional meeting, only to be greeted by a performance from Anton and his dance partner, a live swing band, confetti cannons, and the chance to take to the floor for a once-in-a-lifetime dance class with the master himself.
To add to their surprise, many of the residents were also in on the secret – waiting patiently with Anton and the Richmond team to give their carers a heroes’ welcome and kick-off the celebrations.
Anton said, “The team at Sunrise Senior Living do an amazing job, and I really hope they enjoyed the surprise that Richmond and I put together for them. Carers do such important work – always in high spirits and with a welcoming smile on their face. It’s fantastic that they were recognised as one of the Nation’s Favourite workforces, and I’d personally like to say ‘thank you’, on behalf of the nation, for the work that they do.”
